How do I add a skill clip on Casting Networks?
Go to Media → Add Video, tag it as a Skill Clip, and attach it to a specific skill in your profile. Keep it under 30 seconds, one skill per clip.
Skill clips are one of Casting Networks' most underused features — and also one of the highest-leverage things you can do on the platform.
What a skill clip is:
A short video (usually 15–30 seconds) attached to a specific skill on your profile. When a casting director searches by skill, clips show up as visual proof. Juggling, horseback riding, dialect, stunt, instrument — if you can do it on camera, clip it.
To add one:
- Go to Media → Add Video from your dashboard.
- Upload the clip (MP4 preferred, under ~100MB).
- In the media editor, set the Video Type to Skill Clip.
- Attach it to the specific skill (e.g., "Spanish" or "Horseback Riding") from the dropdown.
- Save.
What makes a great skill clip:
- One skill per clip. Don't combine a dialect clip and a stunt clip — split them.
- Clear, well-lit, one-take. Show the skill without edits or cuts.
- No talking over it unless the skill is a dialect or a vocal performance.
- Under 30 seconds. Casting will not watch a 2-minute drum solo.
Actors who attach clips to 5+ skills get noticeably more specific, type-matched auditions. This is low-hanging fruit.
