How do I cancel my Backstage subscription?
Go to Account Settings → Subscription → Cancel. Backstage sometimes hides the cancel option — look for "Manage" or "Change Plan" links, and if all else fails, email support.
Backstage's cancellation flow has a reputation for being slightly hidden. Here's how to navigate it.
The standard path:
- Log in and click your account icon (top-right).
- Open Account Settings.
- Find Subscription or Billing.
- Click Manage Subscription → Cancel.
- Confirm. They may try to offer discounts to keep you — decline if you're sure.
If you can't find a cancel button:
- Try the "Change Plan" link, which sometimes routes to cancellation.
- Email support@backstage.com with a clear request to cancel — they'll process it.
- If you subscribed through the iOS or Android app, you cancel through your Apple ID or Google Play subscription, not through Backstage's website.
What to expect after cancellation:
- Access continues until the end of your current billing period.
- Your profile stays up but you can't apply to castings.
- Media and resume remain saved — you can reactivate later without rebuilding.
Full account deletion:
Separate from cancellation. Request through support. Backstage typically deletes within 30 days.
Before you cancel:
- Export any casting correspondence or audition history you want to keep.
- Wait out any active callbacks or booked shoots.
- Consider downgrading to free instead of full cancellation — you keep profile visibility without the monthly charge.
