Casting Networks

How do I update or add photos on Casting Networks?

Go to Media → Photos → Add Photo. Upload multiple shots to show range, and set your primary for thumbnails.

Casting Networks uses photos heavily for commercial casting where casting directors scroll through grids of thumbnails fast. More variety means more matches.

To update:

  1. Log in and go to Media → Photos.
  2. Click Add Photo and upload (JPG or PNG, ideally at least 600×800).
  3. Set your primary — this is the thumbnail shown in searches.
  4. Reorder remaining shots by dragging them.

What to include:

  • A strong commercial headshot as your primary.
  • A theatrical shot that shows a different energy (serious, grounded, or character-specific).
  • A "look" range — professional, casual, upscale, down-to-earth. Commercial casting loves range.
  • Full-body or ¾ body shot — CN commercial casting sometimes filters by body type.
  • Character looks if relevant — glasses on/off, hair up/down, clean-shaven vs. beard.

What not to include:

  • Heavily filtered or over-retouched shots. Casting directors hate being surprised at the audition.
  • Old photos that no longer look like you. Reshoot every 2 years at minimum, sooner for significant changes.
  • Non-headshot-style photos (vacation pics, event shots, selfies) unless you're specifically showcasing a lifestyle type.

2 shots is a floor; 6–10 is healthy; 15+ is ideal for commercial actors.
