Showcast
How do I upload a showreel to Showcast?
Go to Profile → Media → Add Clip. Upload an MP4 or MOV file. Keep it under 2 minutes, title it clearly, and lead with your strongest moment.
Showcast supports direct video uploads for showreels and clips.
To upload:
- Log in and go to Profile → Media (or Clips).
- Click Add Clip or Upload Video.
- Select your MP4 or MOV file (up to ~500MB).
- Add a title and short description.
- Set a thumbnail.
Format:
- MP4 or MOV.
- 1080p preferred.
- Landscape only (16:9).
- Clean audio — Australian casting directors, like casting everywhere, bail fast on bad sound.
What to include:
- Primary showreel — your strongest work, under 2 minutes.
- Genre reels — separate comedy, drama, commercial if your work spans them.
- Individual scenes for specific recent credits.
- Skill clips — see the separate guide on skill clips for the technique.
What AU casting specifically looks for:
- Authentic Australian accent work (Strine, South Aussie, Queensland specifics) — if you do these, make them visible.
- Neutral American accent — Australian actors who nail this get more international submissions.
- Regional Australian roles — if you can credibly play rural / outback / Perth-specific characters, show that.
Tip:
The AU casting market values versatility. If you have range across comedy, drama, and commercial, splitting into 3 short reels often beats one long combined reel.
