Is it worth it?
For working AU/NZ actors: yes, Showcast is the standard. Nearly every AU casting director uses the platform; being on it is table-stakes.
For newer actors without representation: it's worth maintaining a profile, but Showcast works much better with an agent actively submitting. If you're early-career without rep, invest the same money in classes, headshots, and self-tape gear first.
Payment:
Annual only. Renewal reminders come 30 days before expiry — watch your email.
Prorated joining:
If you join mid-year, you pay full annual fee (not prorated). Time your signup so it aligns with a clear start — e.g., after headshots are done, when you have time to keep it current.
