How do I add a showreel to my Spotlight profile?

Showreels are central to Spotlight — UK casting directors rely heavily on them.

To add one:

1. Log in and go to Profile → Media (or Showreels depending on UI).
2. Click Add Showreel and choose Upload or Link from Vimeo/YouTube.
3. Title the showreel clearly — e.g., "Full Showreel 2026", "Dramatic Reel", "Comedy Reel".
4. Set a thumbnail (you can upload custom or use auto-generated).

Format requirements:

• MP4 preferred. MOV also supported.
• 1080p minimum, 4K accepted.
• Under 2 minutes total. 90 seconds is the sweet spot.
• Your strongest beat in the first 10 seconds — casting directors stop watching fast.

What to include:

• A clean primary showreel that demonstrates your range in under 2 minutes.
• Separate genre reels if you do distinct work: drama, comedy, commercial.
• Individual scene clips for specific credits you want to highlight.
• Dialect clips if you do them — UK casting searches heavily on accent specificity.

What to avoid:

• Theatre footage from the back of a house. Casting won't watch it. If you only have theatre, record a self-tape scene instead.
• Bad audio. Re-record if the original production audio is noisy.
• Old work. Reels go stale after 3 years. Refresh as you book new credits.

Pro tip:

Spotlight shows the reel thumbnail prominently. Pick a still of your face at its best expression — not mid-blink.
