Actors Access
How do I add a video or demo reel to Actors Access?
Upload from your Dashboard → Media. Videos require the Showfax upload service — expect a small per-video fee unless you're on an unlimited plan.
Videos on Actors Access go through the Showfax upload system, which is the sister service to Actors Access. You'll typically find the option at Dashboard → Media → Add Video.
What you need to know:
- There's a small per-video fee to upload unless you have a media upload package. This catches a lot of actors off guard — budget for it.
- Accepted formats: MP4, MOV. Keep files under the stated size limit (usually ~500MB).
- Videos should be clearly titled (e.g., "Full Reel 2026", "Dramatic Clip — The Night Off", "Comedy Reel"). Casting directors pick which to play based on the title.
Good practices:
- Your strongest moment goes in the first 10 seconds of any reel. Casting directors stop watching fast.
- Keep reels under 2 minutes. Three minutes is the absolute ceiling. Most casting pros will never get past 60 seconds.
- Upload multiple shorter pieces (dramatic, comedic, commercial) rather than one long catch-all reel. Actors Access lets you attach different pieces to different submissions.
- If you have no produced footage yet, a single self-tape scene is much better than nothing. Bad lighting and bad audio are what make home footage unusable — not the fact that it's a self-tape.
