Actors Access
How do I submit to a role on Actors Access?
Open the role, pick the headshot and reel you want to send, add a cover note, and click Submit. Use the tags to match exactly what the breakdown asks for.
When a breakdown is posted publicly, you'll see it on your home feed under Breakdowns. Click the role title to open it, then use the Submit button.
The three things casting cares about in order:
- Your primary headshot matches the role's type. You can choose up to three to attach per submission. Pick shots that read as close to the character breakdown as possible — commercial, theatrical, character-specific, etc.
- Your demo reel or clips are relevant. If you have a reel tagged for the right genre (comedy, drama, procedural), it'll be more likely to get watched.
- Your cover note is short and direct. Two to three sentences max. Mention anything specifically requested (dialects, skills, conflicts) and any recent relevant credit. Don't restate your resume.
What to avoid:
- Submitting to every role you vaguely match. Casting directors remember actors who only submit to right-fit roles.
- Leaving the cover note generic or blank when the breakdown asks for a specific skill or look.
- Attaching a reel that has nothing to do with the project type.
Submissions close when the breakdown closes — sometimes just hours after posting. Enable notifications so you don't miss breakdowns in your type.
